Online safety
Follow our SMART rules
5 Top Tips to stay safe online!
Safe
Keep safe by being careful not to give out personal information when you’re chatting or posting online. Personal information includes your email address, phone number and password.
Meet
Meeting someone you have only been in touch with online can be dangerous. Only do so with your parents’ or carers’ permission and even then only when they can be present. Remember online friends are still strangers even if you have been talking to them for a long time.
Accepting
Accepting emails, IM messages, or opening files, images or texts from people you don’t know or trust can lead to problems – they may contain viruses or nasty messages!
Reliable
Someone online might lie about who they are and information on the internet may not be true. Always check information by looking at other websites, in books, or with someone who knows. If you like chatting online it’s best to only chat to your real world friends and family.
Tell
Tell a parent, carer or a trusted adult if someone, or something, makes you feel uncomfortable or worried, or if you or someone you know is being bullied online.

Love Minecraft?
Want to know more about your hometown?
Crewecraft is a fantastic new project for young people in Crewe to learn about the heritage and historic buildings of the town by recreating them in Minecraft three-dimensional digital formats.
Working with digital artist Gemma Latham, and supported by Cheshire Archives, in the sessions you will learn about the history of the town as you reconstruct the designs of old buildings and landmarks within digital worlds.
Crewe Library will be running 4 fun Minecraft sessions to celebrate the Crewe Traction weekend and Shift Digital - a celebration of digital learning in Cheshire East. Session times are 9.30am - 10.30am, 11.00am - 12.00pm, 1.00pm - 2.00pm and 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Places are limited so book in advance by visiting the library. It is a free activity designed for children aged 7+.

Take a look at this video from Sandbach School. It makes you think about the strange things we do that are acceptable on Social Media that we wouldn't do in real life.
