Topic

For the Spring term we are "Born in the USA", where we will be learning all about North and South America. We will be looking at where America is in the world, the differences between North and South America and the physical geography of America.  We will be looking at the American artist, Andy Warhol who is famous for his pop art.

Homework

Children will have weekly spellings and times tables to learn, these will be sent home on a Thursday to allow children to practise, and tested the following Monday. Children are expected to read daily and complete their reading records. Where possible please take the time to read with your child, focusing on their comprehension skills. Topic homework will be set once a term to further extend the children's knowledge.

Timetable

Each class will have Outdoor Education with Mr Bean and Miss Ikoku every other Wednesday afternoon, please note that children will need to bring wellies and suitable outdoor clothing. Outdoor education takes place irrespective of the weather so please make sure your child is well equipped! Children will have PE every Friday afternoon. Please  ensure children have PE kit and suitable shoes for both indoor and outdoor.  PLEASE label all PE kits and school uniform to save us time and you money! This term we will be going swimming on Thursday afternoons, please ensure children bring their kit and it is all named.

Our Gardens

The children have been busy in the new school gardens with Mrs Ikoku and a range of vegetables in our raised bed.  The children will be taking responsibility for watering and maintaining the gardens on a weekly basis and we look forward to reaping the benefit of their hard work! Yum!
