Hungerford Primary Academy is a two form entry primary school. That is to say we have two classes in each year group from Reception to Year Six. We have a 26 place preschool for both morning and afternoon sessions. After the Reception class, the children stay in classrooms for two-year periods: through years 1 & 2, 3 & 4 and 5 & 6. This is so that we can minimise transitions.
In addition, Hungerford has a seven place Resourced Provision for children with Education Plans for behaviour, social and emotional needs, as well as a strongly supportive parent community and a thriving PTA.
Imagine an inclusive school that is a community of people, where children, parents, governors and staff are inspired by teaching and learning. Individuals are energetic, responsible, caring and committed to achieving outstanding results within a safe and friendly environment that celebrates diversity, and acknowledges the local environment in a global context. Displays, topics, praise and special events characterise life at this school. All age groups make connections with one another through the work they do, the problems they solve and the experiences, strengths and hopes they share. Technology extends learning by opening interactive windows to the world. The outdoor environment boasts stimulating equipment and areas which provide opportunities for all children to engage in purposeful activities that encourage social and physical growth.
This school is Hungerford Primary Academy--a community that nurtures a life-long love of learning, enabling all its children to discover the champion within.
We see our values as intangibles that although you can’t see or touch in our school – you can ‘feel them'. They permeate our vision and act as a filter for change. When a new idea, initiative or innovation is being considered, we can think about the changes anticipated and ask ourselves if the change is positive in terms of what we hold to be important for every one of us in our school community.
We have drivers which underpin all of our curriculum:
We also value the outdoors – seeing the natural world as a context for learning in addition to being an area to learn more about.
At Hungerford Primary Academy, the safety of our children is paramount. Please read our Child Protection Statement to learn how we deal with child welfare concerns.
